Another study has confirmed what we already know: San Francisco is the second most unequal county in the country. Figures from the Brooking Institute and now Trulia confirm that the distance between the top 10% and the bottom 10% of incomes is expressed by a factor of 18—meaning if you make a $100 a day in the bottom tier your counterpart in the upper tier is making $1800 a day. The ratio of bummer to indignant resignation still cannot be expressed by a real number. [San Francisco Magazine]
