The Bay Area public transit system has joined in on the region's boom times, with use of the BART and Caltrain reaching record levels. Caltrain has seen 40 straight months of increasing ridership, while BART had its highest usage levels ever in 2013. The local numbers join a national trend: last year's passenger trips taken on buses, trains and subways across the country were the most since 1956. [SF Examiner]
