Presidio Passes on All Proposals, Including Lucas Museum

After reviewing all the submittals for the Sports Basement site redevelopment, the Presidio Trust has decided on...none of them. George Lucas made a big push for a museum to hold his $1 billion animated art collection, but now says they'll look elsewhere. Other options for the site included the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy's proposal for the Presidio Exchange and the Chora Group and WRNS's Bridge/Sustainability Institute. The Trust decided none of the three were "right for this landmark site," but still wants to incorporate their plans elsewhere in the park. So now nothing is planned for the Crissy Field site, but fear not Sports Basement fans - they're just moving down the street towards Palace of Fine Arts.
