A surface parking lot in Lower Nob Hill is looking for approvals to become a six-story mixed use building with 20 rental apartments, 400 square feet of ground floor commercial space, and no parking. The design by Ian Birchall and Associates is a revamp of a project from 2008 that had seven more units and 20 more feet in height. Back then, neighbors had issue with the loss of parking from the surface lot, lack of off-street parking, and potential damage to the adjacent properties. They haven't made any comments on the new version, so Planning Department staff is recommending approval.
