The skinny: Just off the crooked part of Lombard is Montclair Terrace. This beautiful home is in a gorgeous part of Russian Hill, but just far enough away from Lombard that you won't have to be dealing with noisy tourists all day every day. It took a dip into the market in late 2013 without a sale, and was relisted in late January for $3.695M. It went into contract immediately and sold on February 18 for $205K over asking.

The skinny: Here it is, the biggest sale (so far) of 2014. This home first came onto the market in late 2013 asking $11M, after being sold in 2011 for $9.5M. Though it sold for $1M less than asking, it's still $500,000 more than it sold for just 2.5 years ago.
