Chinese Hospital Expansion Taking Shape in Chinatown

The new Chinese Hospital building has nearly been topped over on Jackson Street between Powell and Stockton. Demolition of the old, arguably historical, structure began last April in order to make way for the brand new 100,000 sq. ft. treatment center. The $160 million expansion will bring the total bed count of the hospital to around 130 and expand ER, intensive care and prescription services—all of which are overwhelmed by the current level of demand. Interior build-out of the structure will begin soon in order to have the new building assisting patients by the end of 2015.
