One of San Francisco's quirkiest historical landmarks, the fiberglass Doggie Diner dachshund head that stands at Sloat Boulevard and 45th Avenue, has gotten a makeover. The dog head received some fresh paint and a good bath before it was returned to its perch last Friday. Mayor Ed Lee, a couple of city Supervisors and other guests celebrated the reinstallation with a party. [SFGate]
