Welcome to Eater Tastings, where Eater SF editor Allie Pape shares the best restaurant and bar news of the week.

BAY AREA—The Cocktail Heatmap got its quarterly update. Check out the best new bars and restaurant bar programs for scoring a tasty drink.

BAY AREA—Today is Valentine's Day, and it's not too late to give your sweetheart the gift of chocolate. Here are our picks for 12 of the best chocolatiers and chocolate shops, and what they're doing for V-Day.

SOMA—The SF Beer Week opening gala was predictably insane, with guys in chicken suits, pretzel necklaces, and a queue nicknamed "Liney the Longer." We've got a report (and photos) from the scene.

PACIFIC HEIGHTS—b. patisserie turned one this week, and its first year in business has been big. Belinda Leong sat down with us to talk missing ovens, handling sellout crowds, and her formula for the best chocolate-chip cookie.

SOMA—What exactly he's doing there is still under wraps, but we broke the news that Chris Cosentino is opening a new restaurant in SOMA's former Zuppa.

THE MISSION—A pop-up that brought day-old bagels from NYC's Russ & Daughters to SF ended up having crazy two-hour lines. In the rain.

SOMA/DOGPATCH—Other notable openings this week: Socola Chocolatier's new shop (with coffee!) in SOMA; Long Bridge Pizza, a new Dogpatch pie joint; and The Pizza Shop, a slice shop on 24th Street with a Jersey pedigree.

MARINA—Wish A16 a happy Valentine's and a happy birthday: it's 10 years old today. Owner Shelley Lindgren and chef Christopher Thompson took a look back.
