Techies Behaving Badly

State Senator Jerry Hill has introduced a bill that seeks to regain public access to a Half Moon Bay beach that was blocked by Sun Microsystems co-founder Vinod Khosla. After Khosla purchased land near Martin's Beach he (legally) closed the only road that accessed the beach, essentially privatizing the public land. The bill, if passed, allows a one year negotiation period with Khosla, after which eminent domain will be enacted if a deal cannot be reached. [SF Examiner]
