The latest micro-unit to pop up for rent on Craigslist is a 60-square-foot basement garden apartment with an open atrium to the sky. "Just opened up, act fast," writes the Craigslist poster offering the one-bedroom, zero-bath (?) sinkhole, which is in the middle of Lake Street and therefore very convenient to transportation. Given how slowly new housing is created in this town, we think this parklet-size dwelling has a lot of potential. It's about the size of a ProtoHouse, right? Unfortunately, since the unit was created after the 1979 rent ordinance went into effect, it does not fall under rent control.
