Artist Scott Oliver is at work on prototypes of three signposts that will be part of a new pedestrian plaza at Masonic and Geary streets come 2016. Oliver won a San Francisco Arts Commission competition to design a work of public art for the plaza. The text on the trio of signposts will be crowdsourced from residents who answer questions like "Where do you want to go that you have never been?" and "Where are you going right now?" The idea is to give form to a transitory place, Oliver tells Hoodline: "The significance of the space right now is where you are headed next, not the spot itself." [Hoodline; previously]
