The Chronicle did some light psychoanalysis of Internet users and made a list of 20 questions about San Francisco that people most often ask Google. They range from curious ("What does San Francisco smell like") to ill informed ("Is San Francisco an island"). Based on Google search's most common queries about SF, notes the Chron, "the answers appear to be: weather, beards and crab, not necessarily in that order." Incredibly, both "What does San Francisco mean in English" AND "What does San Francisco mean in Spanish" made the list. [SFGate]
