Frustrated by the bulk of foldable bikes and the ineffectualness of wheeled sneakers, a Hungarian thesis student has devised a portable scooter that doubles as a belt. Adam Torok's "Belt Scooter" looks like "some kind of arcane medical device," says CityLab, though with the addition of sequins it could pass for something out of BetaBrand. The metal-and-plywood mode of pantsportation weighs about four pounds and incorporates a fabric vein throughout that lets it bend. Torok promises Scooter 2.0 "soon," hopefully rescuing us all from the douchier-seeming water bike. [CityLab]
