Seven previously hidden murals on the second floor of Coit Tower have emerged from an intensive restoration will open to the public, a rare occasion in their 80-year life. The pieces were painted at the same time as the tower's more famous downstairs murals, but they were closed off because of the limitations of the narrow space where they are located. With the completion of the restoration, the murals are now open to small groups of four to eight people as part of the tower's guided tours. [SFGate]
