Spaces for Good

Developers who want to build office towers in the tech hub of SoMa may soon have to pay fees that will go to creating new office space for nonprofits. The proposed fees, which could be part of the Central SoMa plan that will shape the area around the future Central Subway, would be unprecedented. The money would be used for nonprofits like community centers, day care facilities or cultural facilities that directly serve the local neighborhood. [SF Business Times]
