In case you haven't noticed yet, we're big fans of lovingly updated homes developed by midcentury master Joseph Eichler. The latest lovely Eichler to hit the market is out in Walnut Creek, and it's filled with characteristic touches like floor-to-ceiling windows and wood-plank ceilings. As our counterparts over at Curbed National point out, Eichler fans are often willing to pay twice as much as you might expect for a suburban house, so this one's $830K price tag comes as no surprise. And it's way less than you'd pay for the (totally opposite, very urban) experience of living in Business Wire founder Lorry Lokey's furnished two-bedroom unit—currently on the market for $6.25 million—in the Eichler-designed Summit building in San Francisco. Although it has undoubtedly retained its Eichler feel, the three-bedroom house has shiny new appliances, central air-conditioning, and redone bathrooms.
