We always fall hard for Eichlers, even—or especially—when they would necessitate a move out of SF, since no one lately in these parts seems to know how to take care of one properly. Here is a total gem in Concord, in Rancho de los Santos, one of the area's three smallish Eichler 'hoods. The four-bed, two-bath, 1,811 square footer is an atrium-model A-frame with the floor-to-ceiling-glass, indoor/outdoor porosity we expect and the natural-finish wood-plank ceilings we're constantly chasing after in our unfulfilled real-estate fantasies. Globe lights, check; polished concrete radiant-heat floors, check; nostalgia-stoking staging, check check check. (Kitchen, meh, but those patios were made for takeout and, er, "television dinners," which only need to be popped into the oven for, like 50 minutes!) Asking $575,000. Where do we sign.
