Now that Airbnb has cleared a major hurdle with the Board of Supervisors' vote to legalize short-term rentals in the city, a possible ballot measure aiming to restrict the operations of Airbnb and other short-term rental companies could reappear. Supporters of the ballot measure were gathering signatures until July, when they withdrew the proposal to attempt to work via legislation. It's too late for the measure to make it on November's ballot, but it may show up in a future election. [SF Business Times]
