San Francisco's city attorney has asked a judge to throw out a legal challenge to Proposition B, the voter-approved measure that requires additional voter approval for any new building on Port of San Francisco property that exceeds height limits. California officials filed the suit on the grounds that the state has authority over public waterfront land. A hearing on the issue, which affects big planned developments like the one set for Pier 70, will take place on January 22. [SFGate; previously]
