Muni's new route map is on the way at last, after undergoing a redesign by volunteer cartographers David Wiggins and Jay Primus. Beyond looking fresher and less cluttered, the map—now on view at the "Urban Cartography" show at SPUR—has the humility to acknowledge that some routes have poorer service than others. The redesign makes the choice between buses more intuitive by rendering routes with frequent service in thicker lines. It should arrive in Muni shelters in early 2015. [Streetsblog SF; previously]
