Crane Delay

Market Street Place, the huge retail building planned for Mid-Market between Fifth and Sixth streets, has been delayed by San Francisco's rising construction costs. The site has looked ready to go for months, and construction was supposed to kick off in September, but developer Cypress Equities now says that ground will be broken on November 12. The project is being developed on spec, with no leases yet signed by future retail tenants. [SF Business Times]
