The octogenarian billionaire and Business Wire founder Lorry Lokey listed his glassy two-bedroom viewing platform on the 29th floor of the Eichler-built Summit building for $6.25 million earlier this month. And now Lokey has alerted the Wall Street Journal that he'll donate the proceeds from the sale to charity as part of the Giving Pledge, the Gates-Buffet tag-team campaign to encourage billionaires to donate half their wealth to charity. Lokey, who picked up the property in 2006 for $4.6 million, is fond of the views, which are killer, mostly used the 2,200-square-foot property for entertaining and charity events. He bought the place furnished and will sell it that way, too. This is perhaps the only time when it feels appropriate to root for a few million over asking?
