Hotel Wire

Dreamforce, the conference thrown by local tech company Salesforce, is notorious for taking over big swaths of San Francisco and causing hotel shortages during its yearly run through town. This year, however, the conference is so big that hotel demand has spread to Oakland, with the Oakland Marriott City Center and the Courtyard by Marriott Oakland Downtown hotels absorbing the spillover and providing shuttles to Dreamforce attendees. The conference comes amid a general hotel shortage in San Francisco that saw 95 percentage occupancy rates—possibly the highest ever—this August. [SF Business Times]
