Reckless Endangerment

The spread of illegal pot farming in California is endangering a small woodland creature known as the Pacific fisher. The fisher—which looks like a cross between a bear and a housecat—is being taken out by the poison used to keep rats from eating marijuana plants. The US Forest Service has opened up a 90-day comment period inviting the public to weigh in on whether the fisher should be classified as a threatened species. [CBS]
