8 Washington Vote Approaches

New, 1 comment

The insane drama that is the 8 Washington project continues as the November 5 ballot referendum approaches. Already approved by the Port Commission, the Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors, the 134-unit project will now be in the hands of the voters who will decide if the increased height limit from 84 to 136 feet will be allowed. Opponents "argue that the plan would eliminate an existing private swim and tennis club," but so do proponents, stating "the development will replace an asphalt parking lot, a private club and more than 1,700 feet of ugly green fence along the Embarcadero and bring in $100 million in revenue to the city."
