Seismic $$$ for Renters

New, 2 comments

Today the Board of Supervisors will vote on an ordinance that will provide financial relief for renters whose landlords pass on the costs of required capital improvement costs. Earlier this year the Supes passed legislation requiring seismic retrofitting to wood-frame buildings of three or more stories built before 1978 containing five or more dwelling units, but people worried how it'd affect renters. There are some prerequisites for applicants, like receiving public assistance, having outstanding medical bills, or a household income of less than 80% of the AMI. [SF BOS/previously on Curbed SF]
