The home belongs to Internet entrepreneur John McLaughlin, who apparently sunk "about four times what he was quoted" on a 1-year complete remodel on the William Wurster-designed abode. McLaughlin planned to have his daughter use the home while she went to school in San Francisco, but those plans changed so it's now on the market. The 4-bed, 4.5-bath, 4,953 square foot home was also home to late Levi Strauss heirs Walter A. Haas Jr. and his wife Evelyn at one point. Despite the architectural pedigree and the very fabulous remodel, the $2,271 per square foot price tag was too high for any buyer. The home's price just took a one million price reduction.
