The new Bay Bridge bike path is quite the hit already, despite only being partially completed. Thousands of bikers, joggers, walkers and the like have been clogging up the new 8-mile out-and-back pathway since its September 6 opening. "It was crowded, but everyone was very courteous," explained one biker braving the weekend rush. The path is expected to be connected to Yerba Buena Island by 2016, once the old bridge has been removed to clear the way. [SFGate]
