Bay Bridge Bike Path Overrun

Snapped bolts, design flaws and cost overruns on the Bay Bridge, sure, but on the Bay Bridge bike path? That's exactly what the The Chronicle is reporting after getting ahold of Caltrans documents that show these errors leading to at least $3.8 million in overages. Replacing large portions of the railing and fences seems to have been one of the largest costs after it was discovered the originals had "(gates) that didn't open properly, railing grills and grates that did not fit, and flawed parts used to anchor the fences on both sides of the path."
