Welcome back to Curbed Comparisons, where we scour the San Francisco's rental listings to see what your monthly budget will get you across the city. This week, we're investigating apartments listed for $2,700/month. We are squarely in one-bedroom territory here, so we're looking at location, amenities, and interior finishes. You tell us what looks like the most bang for your buck.
? First up: Duboce Triangle. This beautifully remodeled one bedroom is going for $2,700/month. At 600 square feet, the unit is pretty tiny and dark, but the open floor plan in the kitchen and living area add at least a feeling of spaciousness. The building is made up of six condos, which usually makes for a quiet, private space. No parking, but laundry in the building. No pets allowed, though.
? This is a pet-friendly one bedroom near Alamo Square, going for $2,695/month. Market-price units in desirable areas are rare finds for pet owners, so this is a gem for those of you with furry friends. The kitchen is a bit outdated and there's no parking available, but there's hardwood and laundry in the building. Plus, the landlord pays water and garbage.
? In Potrero Hill you can, as expected, get more space for your dollar, with this $2,700/month two bedroom, one bathroom. Super spacious and nicely renovated kitchen and hardwood throughout make it feel luxe for the up-and-coming neighborhood, though it also looks a bit dark, being on the ground floor. No parking and no laundry in the building - though there is a laundromat across the street. Pets are negotiable.
? In Telegraph Hill, this pet-friendly one bedroom is just a touch over-budget at $2,750/month, but a rare find for the neighborhood. The kitchen is tiny but the bathroom looks spacious and nicely renovated. No parking but laundry in the building. And a LOT of carpet.
? Finally, in Lower Pac Heights, this charming one bedroom is going for $2,695/month. While small, the unit has great finishes: hardwood throughout, stainless fridge and gas stove in the kitchen, and nice tile in the bathroom. Laundry onsite, and utilities are included in the rent. With the money you save, you could take the available parking spot for an additional $250/month. And, pet lover rejoice: your dog or cat are welcome.
