The Planning Department's Historic Preservation team has been focusing on the Sunset District a lot lately, with the local landmarking of the Doelger sales office and the Historic Context Statement of the Sunset's builder developers and residential tracts. Now they've completed a survey of the area (similar to the ones done in the Mission), and the results are available online. The results include identifying three potential historic districts and several dozen potentially individually eligible buildings. If you're interested in learning about more, the Department is holding community meetings tonight and August 27, and is hosting a free walking tour this Saturday focused on the historical development of housing tracts in the neighborhood.
