Irving Bulb-Outs Resistance

A proposal by the city to eliminate 10-12 parking spots on Irving between 20th and 25th avenues and create public space has been met with, you guessed it, resistance from local merchants. The SFMTA states there are more than 400 metered parking spaces adjacent to Irving, and hypothesize that many customers do not arrive by car. Facts and theories aside, owners of some adjacent businesses "insisted that removing any car parking would make it too difficult for customers and workers to drive to their stores." [SF Streets Blog]
