Reconnecting Neighborhoods

A combination of factors may bring about the leveling of Geary Boulevard where is passes under Fillmore Street, and government officials are clamoring for plans reconnecting Japantown to Western Addition. Projects like the Geary Corridor Bus Rapid Transit will be bringing in funds necessary to complete the work, which could cost upwards of $40 million. The rapid transit project is currently expected to be completed by 2020, but "that date could be moved up to 2018 if work were to start now." [SF Examiner/Curbed SF]
