With their decision swaying back and forth more than a bridge in an earthquake, transportation officials have agreed once again to open the new Bay Bridge the day after Labor Day. With a temporary fix for the broken rods in place, the bridge will be closed for 5 days beginning Wednesday, August 28, before reopening on the morning of September 3. Sorry, the party scheduled to take place during the opening is still cancelled. [SF Appeal/Curbed SF/photo via Patricia Chang]
