Kaiser Permanante has abandoned their controversial plans to build a medical office building in Potrero Hill, instead opting for a lot nearby in Mission Bay. The medical giant will pay $55.2 million for a plot at 1600 Owens Street where it will build a 10-story, 264,000 sq. ft. building. The deal is expected to close this December, with construction expected to last 18 months. [Curbed SF/San Francisco Business Times]
