Undeterred by last month's outpouring of love for 8 Washington, opponents of the luxury condo development hope to undermine a petition of support with the help of a poorly reproduced map. To counter a ballot measure opposing the project's special 136 foot waterfront height limit, the project's sponsors have been working to collect 10,000 signatures to get a competing measure on the ballot that allows voters to decide on the project in its entirety, but one of the maps in their petition apparently obscures the heights of the proposed buildings. Representatives on either side of the issue variously told SF Gate that the map could be a "fatal flaw" or the cornerstone of a "baseless" legal claim, indicating that this latest scene of the 8 Wash drama could easily fall flat.
