Transit Upgrades

Just in time to provide a (very slow) alternative to BART, Daly City has completed upgrades to its Top of the Hill transit center, where riders can switch between Muni and SamTrans (and eventually BART again). Solar panel equipped shelters providing wind break for the new benches, and digital displays offering real-time bus info are among the multiple upgrades, many of which focus on safety, made to the plaza since 2007. "The transit and pedestrian safety improvements are especially important in light of San Mateo County's growing senior population," according to Vice Mayor David Canepa. [SF Examiner]
