Can you tell us faithful Curbed SF readers what is going in at the old Marshall's location at 5th and Market Streets? The location our reader is referring to is 901 Market Street, on the corner of 5th and Market. And what is going to replace the old Marshalls' (which moved down the street to 760 Market) is a 45,500 sq. ft. Nordstrom Rack. The retailer chose 901 Market over the under construction Market Street Place, a new 250,000 sq. ft. development located next door. One of the reasons for choosing the existing building may be timing as the new Nordstrom Rack is expected to be open in early 2014, while Market Street Place will not be completed until a year later. Nordstrom already operates two nearby stores: a full-priced option at the Westfield Shopping Center and a Rack outlet at 555 Ninth Street.
