Today the Board of Supervisors will vote to support the city's proposed new Urban Agriculture Program. Last year Supervisor David Chiu authored legislation with the San Francisco Urban Agriculture Alliance and SPUR that mandated the creation of the first citywide Urban Agriculture Program. The program will be run by the Rec & Park Department as a "one-stop-shop" for urban agriculture, assist in the formation of new garden projects, provide resources and tools, and develop partnerships with community organizations.
