What's Going on with the Fresh & Easy Planned for Ocean Ave?

Any update on the Ocean Ave Fresh & Easy?Last October we brought you the news that discount grocery store Fresh & Easy was planning on moving into an old Rite Aid spot on Ocean Avenue near CCSF. The project was approved, but so far there hasn't been any movement and no building permits filed. Fresh & Easy has been plagued with problems due to "lackluster growth" at its US chains, and its parent company Tesco has been looking to sell the chain (ideally as an operating business). Though they've confirmed they don't plan on closing any SF locations yet, there's no word on the previously approved unbuilt locations like Ocean Ave and South Van Ness. In the meantime, Whole Foods has recently expressed an interest in acquiring the Fresh & Easy chain, as has LA-based Wild Oats looking to resurrect their brand since selling to Whole Foods, so maybe there's hope after all.
