Samsung Silicon Valley Satellite HQ Breaks Ground

Construction began on industry titan Samsung's new Silicon Valley campus this week. The energy-efficient design will include a 10-story main building, an amenity pavilion, and a parking garage. The campus will be feature several outer courtyards and a central grand courtyard so that "each Samsung employee will be no further than one floor away from green space." The parking structure will be topped with solar panels to increase efficiency. NBBJ Architects designed the campus that will eventually employ 2,000 people in San Jose. Google has already begun construction of their new Googleplex, but Samsung will have a head start over the Apple Mothership (and NVIDIA and Facebook, and...) in the apparent arms race of tech-giants.
