Obtain Massive Leg Strength by Renting a Hilltop Apartment

New, 4 comments

It's quite clear that the San Francisco rental market is hot, hot, hot right now, so here at Curbed we're going to bring you a bevy of rental properties each week for your perusal. This week we took a look at rentals in San Francisco's hillier neighborhoods, for renters who like strong thighs and/or being out of breath.

This large 1-bedroom for $2,795 a month on Hyde Street in Nob Hill exudes classic San Francisco charm. We're talking crown mouldings, wainscoting, hardwood flooring, and built-ins. It's also right on the cable car line, so ear plugs might be essential if you're a light sleeper. The kitchen's a bit outdated but it's spacious enough and has good counter space. Extra points for having a window in both the kitchen and the bathroom. Building amenities include onsite management and a laundry room that's open 24-hours. [craigslist]

$3,375 per month gets you a 2-bedroom apartment in Pacific Heights on California Street. This particular unit has been remodeled and has the basics like fresh paint and refurbished hardwood floors. Each bedroom is bright and airy because of the two or three windows, same goes for the living room which has bay windows. The kitchen's huge and has a stainless steel gas stove, with a storage pantry off of the kitchen. The building's within walking distance to Laurel Village Shopping Center, CPMC, etc. [craigslist]

Over in Bernal Heights you can get a 600 square foot 1-bedroom for $2,200, much less than the neighborhood average of $2,675. This unit is on the top floor of a renovated Victorian. Highlights include extra high ceilings and some hardwood flooring. We're especially fond of the private deck that overlooks the gardens, which are shared and plentiful. This unit even gets its very own 5' x 20' garden plot in the garden. THere's laundry on site. [craigslist]
