Former President of SPUR Jim Chappell endorsed the much-maligned 8 Washington project's ballot initiative as an opportunity to create more jobs, more parks and more housing in San Francisco. As you recall, the project will now be featured as duelling ballot initiatives in November. Chappell goes so far as to call the current site "ugly, horribly underused stretch of the waterfront."
