Your First Look: ICON in the Castro Reveals Itself

ICON in the Castro revealed itself late last week when its scaffolding covered in a protective shroud was removed. The newly constructed boutique building has eight 1-bedroom units, eight 2-bedroom units, and two townhouses. Smaller units will be around 600 square feet and larger units will start at 1,500 square feet. The ground floor retail space will be home to a new Bank of the West branch. Building amenities include a landscaped zen garden. There's 14 parking spots. The project's build was stalled in 2010 due to financing issues, so we're happy to see it finally ready for its closeup. No matter how you feel about the design, we're hoping we all can agree that it's better than the vacant lot that was there for 30+ years.
