Cup Half Empty

The America's Cup Racing Authority has reduced the number of July racing days for its Luis Vuitton Challenger Rounds from 21 to 15. The reductions are partially due to the death of gold medalist Andrew "Bart" Simpson in May, and the subsequent damage caused to the Swedish team's multimillion dollar catamaran. Event authorities are in the process of issuing refunds for cancelled races, because "we don't expect people to pay if there's no racing." [CBS SF Bay Area/photo via Kevin Day]
