Old Fulton Street Bar Site Turning into the Barrel Head Brewhouse

New, 1 comment

Up before the Planning Commission tomorrow is the conversion the old Fulton Street Bar space at 1785 Fulton into the Barrel Head Brewery. The 3,800 sq.ft. ground floor and mezzanine two-story space will be renovated to hold the new restaurant and bar, but needs Commission approval to extend the zoned restaurant hours from 10pm to 2am. Located in prime real estate between Masonic and Central, the space has sat vacant for the past 9 years since Fulton Street Bar closed. Some neighbors voiced concerns about late night noise from the bar, but the major neighborhood groups, USF, and local businesses have all blessed the project. Barrel Head Brewery plans to brew their beers on site and utilize the large open space with exposed wood timbers in their design. According to sister site Eater SF, we can expect a handcrafted wooden stave bar, weathered tables, gas lanterns, and a fireplace in the space.
