Supes Tackle Condo Conversion Fees

New, 1 comment

Today the Supes will vote on the controversial condo conversion impact fee plan. Sponsored by Sup. Farrell, the new rules would allow condominium conversion impact fee applicable to certain buildings that would be permitted to convert during a six year period, suspend the annual condominium conversion lottery until 2024 and resume it under circumstances tied to permanently affordable rental housing production, and restrict future condominium lotteries to buildings of no more than four units with a specified number of owner occupied units for three years prior to the lottery. Sup. Weiner voted against the changes in the Land Use and Economic Development Committee and lots of groups have voiced their unhappiness, so it should be a heated hearing.
