The Examiner offers an editorial scathing a report by employees of the California Coastal Commission about the Beach Chalet soccer field renovation. The editorial points out that the area has already been athletic fields for some 75+ years, and wonders how "the Coastal Commission staff argues that nine acres of mowed grass — but not artificial turf — would be natural" in an area that was historically sand dunes. The commission is scheduled to discuss the would-be renovations this Thursday. [Examiner/Curbed SF]
