Demolition crews are underway removing the buildings at 935-965 Market Street. In their absence will rise Market Street Place, a 250,000 sq. ft. retail development. Formerly known as City Place, the project has been the talk of much contention in the past, (mostly over the removal of the St. Francis Theater) and is most recently known for losing Nordstrom Rack as an anchor tenant to neighboring 901 Market Street. Cypress Properties will continue to search for tenants for their glass-fronted retail center, scheduled to be ready for occupancy in early 2015.
