Historic Chinese Hospital Building Under Demolition

New, 1 comment

The 1 Chinese Hospital, the last privately owned hospital in San Francisco, is currently being demolished to make way for a new, state-of –the-art hospital addition in the heart of Chinatown. The new center will be in addition to the 54-bed hospital building next door, the most recent addition (and birthplace of Bruce Lee!), constructed in 1979. Among the new medical center features are 48 private patient rooms, a 22-bed nursing unit and a 6-bed intensive care unit throughout the 8-story, 100,000 sq. ft. building. Customers will have street-level access to emergency treatment when the new center opens in 2015. -Michael Conrad
